Our Approach
We view this capacity-building initiative as the most critical component of increasing the ability of HACU institutions to send their students abroad over the long term and the majority of our effort over the next ten years will be focused here.
The Global Learning Semesters team has extensive experience in study abroad administration, having served in both university advisor, program provider and NAFSA academy trainer roles. Global Learning Semesters has also served on the Standards committee of the Forum for Education Abroad.
It is critical to note however that we view this, above all, as a collaborative partnership where we will learn from one another.
HACU institutions are the ones that will have the clearest view of the issues and barriers that their students face regarding study abroad. As different HACU member institutions progress toward more effective study abroad administration, we hope to use the Hispanic Global Alliance as a vehicle to transfer this knowledge to other HACU member institutions.
We hope that the Institutional Capacity Building Initiative is the most important legacy of the Hispanic Global Alliance.
